Ellen Stone, K-1 Teacher
Ellen hails from the great state of Georgia and arrived in Boston just weeks ago so that she could be closer to her family. She is looking forward to being a part of her grandchildren’s lives and that was proving to be difficult when a thousand miles away. Ellen comes to us with over 30 years of teaching experience! She has her doctorate in Education and her Masters as well. She has taught several grade levels and subjects. Most of all she stands out as a great educator because of her love of children and passion to see them grow and learn. She loves the Lord and is looking forward to sharing that with our kids.
Laura Richmond, 2-4 Teacher
Laura has worn many hats at Grace Prep: Music Teacher, Classroom Teacher, Director, Founder, Chapel Leader and parent. Laura has her Bachelor of Science in Education from Baylor University. She has five children and has homeschooled for 15 years and was instrumental in establishing Grace Prep in Boston. Laura is excited for the year ahead! For years, she has been charged with determining our curriculum at Grace. As she began to research and dream for our classes this year, her vision and love for teaching and seeing children learn was stirred up within her. Educating children has always been a love and passion of hers. She is inspired by the teachings of Charlotte Mason, and hopes to create in children a love of learning.
Jasmine Perez, Art Teacher
Jasmine has been teaching art at Grace since 2013.She has an extensive background in art and education. After graduating from art school she began working on commissions for Sacred Art and found her true joy. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, her family relocated to Newton a few years ago and she was able to find a great preschool for her daughter. It was at this school that she met Nici Smith and her family. She was so grateful when Nici asked her to join Grace. Teaching art is her passion. She is a Gallery Liaison and the Boston Public School Liaison at the Museum of Fine Arts and will also be teaching downstairs at Presbyterian Church Nursery School (PCNS) this year. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Fashion Institute of New York (SUNY) and is a member of the National Art Education Association. Her hope is that every student at Grace can be inspired and find joy in her art class!
Carina will be taking on the position of Music Teacher this year. She has her Masters in Special Education and has been on the worship team at two churches for over thirteen years. Her understanding of children, gentle nature, and love of music and education will be prominent in the school.
